Power Creep

I know that "power creep" is a element of consideration for the LCG/CCG/ECG model.

This was already mentioned in one of videos connected to V:Rivals...and I know it will eventaully happen to a degree.

I just have to put my two cents in early however.

Renegade, please, with this IP, there are a lot of clans to explore and product that can be developed.  I think balanced variety is way more important to me as a player then a huge increase in power for card sets coming out.

I speak specifically for myself, but hopefully for more, in that I would rather see clans represented on an equitable level first, and then see greater power slowly introduced into the system.  Difficult to achieve with all the possible factions, but is a goal I would love to see supported for the longevity of the game, long before I want to see the system broken with power cards.

    Looking forward to playing!

Thanks for your enthusiasm for the game!

We are thinking long-term for the game - from the game's design, the organized play program, all the way down to the features we're rolling out here on VampireRivals.com.

Supporting and driving a variety of interesting strategies and approaches is party of keeping the game interesting. There's a few decisions we made early on to help keep the meta game varied and interesting for players, including allowing for multi-clan vampire and library decks, making the game an ECG (so players have equal access to all the cards) and choosing not to make any gameplay elements KS-exclusive.

We're so glad you're with us on this journey and look forward to getting the game into your hands!

Another way to keep the game balanced, when creep occurs, is simply to introduce newer cards and mechanics that inevtiably arise, with the original clans. I often see if these types of games that the first released cards are great, but over time the newer clans just become dominant. Making sure either that the newer cards still work with the originally released clans, or actually revisiting and adding cards specific to those clans, is important as well.
